The preparation of the tank surface and bolts plays an important role in a successful coating project and tank installation. During the process any remaining oily water has been cleaned, grit blasting takes place. Next, an examination is performed to see if there are any chlorides on the surface.
A chemically resistant immersion-grade epoxy coating is applied to the interior of the tank. These coatings are applied by spraying with airless spray equipment at a thickness of 15 to 20 mils per coat. Welds and corners were stipe coated, followed by two layers of HP-410 GF in alternate colors for a minimum-film build of 30 mils.
